Signs
These posters were created for the 2009 design contest “Jelek” (Signs) of the Budapest typographic organization Typoszalon. The first title—“Jelet hagyni” (Leaving a Mark)—comes from Hungarian painter, graphic artist and poet Béla Kondor's book of poems published in 1974. The surrounding text is from the same book's forewords, while the icons on the spines reflect the contents of the volumes they appear on. The second poster quotes a Hungarian proverb: “Knives, forks and scissors don't belong to a children's hand.” The ChaletComprimé typeface—created by Paul van der Laan for a companion family of House Industries’ Chalet—used throughout the whole design is the one I used in several other projects too these years.
