The Black Cat
This cover (and the booklet not shown here) was designed for Orsolya Karafiáth (lyrics) and Evelin Tóth (vocals) for their 2009 album “A Fekete Macska” (The Black Cat). The collaboration of one of Hungary’s most talented jazz singers using her throat as a standalone instrument, and one of the most widely known and appreciated poets resulted in a strange and unique mixture of part contemporary part Brecth-esque concept performance. From the total of 50 images available—shot by Judit Marjai—I have chosen the ones that reflect the mood of this avantgarde production. The Museo typeface—created by Jos Buivenga—used throughout the whole design is one of his most known and widely applied font.
