Sweltering Midnight

CD cover art and inlay design for a music compilation with ballads of the apprehension. Digital media. Created as a private work on desktop PC in 2009.

Back to the usual “dark side”, this compilation consists of songs about the relentless fear. In this period I almost constantly experimented with the Context Free Design Grammar (containing only 4 or 5 basic commands in the 2nd version of the language). The results of these small programs appear in several projects including this one too, which combines classic image processing—as the body of the moon-like objects—and generative art that was used for the “fur”. The effect became an alienated scene reflecting the mood of the tracks on the CD. The typeface—Pasta Simpla—was designed and kindly provided gratis for this work by Béla Frank.
